Wuling Cortez is a local name for Wuling Baojun 730 which will be presented in 2018 to come. This MPV is able to accommodate seven passengers in it, which is divided into three rows of seats. Like Wuling Confero, Cortez is the result of a collaboration between General Motors, Wuling and SAIC, which is actually made and marketed only for China. But Wuling's expansion into Indonesia brought with Confero and Cortez.

Unlike Confero who entered in the Low MPV segment along with Toyota Avanza, Mitsubishi Xpander, and others, Cortez is aimed at fighting a medium-sized MPV like Toyota Innova. Dimensions are suitable because the wheelbase is exactly the same as the Innova is 2750 mm. While in length, Cortez is longer (4780 vs 4735 mm).
The measure could be an indication that the Cortez cabin is slightly more spacious than Innova, but the baggage carrying capacity, as we have tried, is larger when the third row seats are functional. Interestingly, this car has two variants (the name of the variant has not been announced), where the highest level of middle seat captain seat. An advantage that equals the highest variant of Innova.

Behind the hood, the original Cortez had several four-cylinder engine options, all of which were fueled by gasoline. The first berkapasigtas 1.5 liters with a maximum power of 112 PS. But in Indonesia, Wuling Motors provides 1.8-liter engine type with power up to 130 PS, plus VVT-I added. This is somewhat surprising because VVT-I is Toyota's.
Power is then channeled to the front wheels, through a five-speed I-AMT transmission. Yes, the transmission can not be proud of it, but after trying a few rounds at the Sentul circuit, we must admit, the transmission is made specifically by Aisin is better than most AMT.
What is surprising is, the abundance of features in this car, and all feels functional. Front and rear lights are LED. MID with very complete information, so you like to be inside a European MPV. Not to mention the sunroof, setting the digital AC for front and rear. Yes, behind its AC settings using buttons instead of knobs. And do not forget the interior material is pretty good.

We must admit, Wuling Cortez is not MPV carelessly. The quality, completeness, and performance are very worthy of two thumbs. Now, live as bravely what Wuling Motors provide the price for the Cortez.
Interior & Features
This is where Cortez speaks volumes. Even when juxtaposed with competitors such as Toyota Kijang and Chevrolet Orlando (which, it seems to be the basis of Cortez development. So open the door, you will be greeted with an interior that feels smooth both materially and when occupied.
Dashboard coated padded material (padded), as well as door trim. Okay, there are some parts that the material feels rough, but we think the quality is good enough. The stand out is the feature. We are sorry, because its features are many, this part will be long.

Cortez has a complete MID. Starting from the pressure monitor and tire tempratur, complete with navigation instructions, warning (warning) if there is something wrong with the car, warning long driving time, headunit information, and more.
In the center of the dashboard, there is a touch screen headunit measuring eight inches. If you are familiar with Windows Phone, it looks similar. Again, General Motors and Microsoft, Windows Phone makers, are partners. However, Wuling did not specifically mention the base of operation of this unit head is Windows. To be sure, the speakers are made by Infiniti Audio.
Slide down the head unit, there is a climate-controlled digital AC. Unfortunately, not yet dual zone. Below, a storage device that also contains a USB socket and 12 volts. Well, an interesting one is next to the transmission lever.

The row of buttons next to the transmission lever is electrically hand brake (yes, electronic brake is handed, no lever), then there is auto hold button, which will activate the brake automatically when the car is in silent condition, and off when the gas pedal is pressed. This is very useful if you stop on a hill.
The rest there is a button to activate the parking sensor in front and rear. USB sockets are available for all lines, as well as cup holder. On the ceiling, there is an electric sunroof, a feature that is not owned by his opponent. Unfortunately, the material cover sunroof feels thin. This, according to Wuling, will still be fixed for later versions.
Exterior
The shape of Wuling Cortez does not vary. Wuling designers are looking for a safe between form and functionality. Nothing special from the form of lights, grille, until the overall appearance. But make no mistake, this design has a pretty good function.

All the lights, either in front or behind, are equipped with LEDs. Except the lights that are under the rear bumper. And talking about the stern, luminescence design reminds us of European car models such as Audi or BMW.
Interestingly, when you open the trunk, there are some lights that will light up, as in the number plate (this is typical of GM-made cars), and lights on the bumper.
The rear door can open wide enough to give access to all the rear rows. High roofs provide a thrilling headroom. Combined with the captain seat, then you will see a very spacious cabin space.
Wuling Baojun 310 is really suitable for family use.
